The humanitarian situation in Gaza is incredibly heavy, and it is hitting premature babies and newborns - the most vulnerable members of our community, the most. 100% of the proceeds for the class will be going towards the NICU in Al Aqsa Hospital - one of the worst hit hospitals in Gaza. Campaign I will be donating to: https://chuffed.org/project/138624-help-al-aqsa-hospital-n The organization I've chosen to donate to is called Gaza Infant Care Collective. The Gaza Infant Care Collective project has been called upon to help provide infant care packages to the NICU at Al Aqsa Hospital in Gaza. In collaboration with Dr. Ali Tahrawi; a practicing physician at the hospital; we hope to raise funding support to provide infants with care packages that will include: diapers, formula, and clothing as needed. Currently the radical formula shortage, has created a level of purchase inflation that would place financial hardship on most anyone. Though market value changes often; currently a 500g can of baby formula costs around $60 US dollars. Baby diaper pricing can range from $100-$120 US dollars. Cash sale comission continues to sit between 40%-50% alongside the exponential costs of basic baby care products. The Gaza Infant Care Collective ground team members work tirelessly to locate and purchase items at the best possible rate they can negotiate. Taking careful consideration of cost, we have set this campaign goal to $10,000 US dollars so we can reach the entire NICU unit at Al Asqa hospital. Currently there are about 20 infants recieving ongoing medical intervention that we hope to reach with a care package. Our mission is to provide each baby with the following care package: - 2 cans of formula milk -2 packages of diapers - basic baby clothing/blankets as needed The Gaza Infant Care Collective has been providing short term support to many families with vulernable infants for several months.
